Lee Buccilli
Artist Statement
Lee specialises in sporting and military portraiture. He began painting after leaving the army in 1995. He was employed as a traditional pub sign painter before a twenty year career as an art teacher in various educational settings. He has been self employed as an artist now for two years.
In this time, he has enjoyed a close relationship with Leeds United and been commissioned to paint ten portraits for the newly refurbished Chairman’s Lounge and eight portraits of Leeds United legend, Eddie Gray for the new Eddie Gray Suite. As well as work for various hospitality areas around the ground.
Lee is also ‘artist in residence’ for the Army Benevolent Fund’s annual event at the Merchant Adventurers Hall in York and has an exhibition planned at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, to coincide with the month of remembrance next year.
